One of my favorite shows on TV, and one I never miss, is The Daily Show on Comedy Central. They draw humor from huge, national and worldwide stories and expose the hypocrisy and lunacy for many a laugh. So imagine my delight when my hometown, Detroit, made their headlines. Part of me wasn't sure Detroit's Mayoral scandal was truly worthy of national headlines and, maybe, Detroit has been a punch line for so long I just assumed a sex scandal here mixed with purgery and cover-up was no better than a 'woman-find-alligator-in-kitchen' story you might hear from Florida. A novelty, if you will.
Luckily, The Daily Show legitimized it. Brilliantly. My blog entry will be short, but I just had to share this huge news . . .
